Set on a hillside two miles
from Reeth this converted stone barn lies tucked
away at the end of a quiet country lane in a
corner of the tiny hamlet of Marrick. This cosy
cottage is located near the top of “The Nuns
Causey” a centuries old stone path leading to
the Priory through a wildflower filled
wood.
The picture window of the
cottage gives beautiful views across heather
clad moors and hills dotted with sheep, with
hardly another house to be seen. The other
windows also look out onto green
hillsides.
Reeth affords day-to-day
shopping and pubs serving excellent bar meals
and many other attractions.
Richmond with
its Norman Castle and keep, markets, leisure
facilities and gardens is only six miles away.
Lots of countryside pursuits are available
locally, particularly walking.
The
cottage is comfortably furnished and retaining a
rustic feel with low beams and exposed
stonework. Downstairs there is a hall, dining
kitchen and sitting room with open fire and open
staircase. Upstairs there are three bedrooms,
one double, one twin (with 2ft 6in beds) and one
single. The bathroom has bath, wc, and
handbasin. Facilities include electric cooker,
microwave, fridge, electric kettle, colour TV.
Heating is by solid fuel, electric convection
and night storage units and is inclusive in the
rent. Towels and bedding are provided. There is
also outside garden furniture, and a barbeque
for you to use, and parking on the drive for two
cars. One well behaved pet is
welcome.
